Guest guest
Regarding Cruising: I had a great cruise experience last December! I made crackers and cookies, burying them deep within my luggage inside tupperware. I also buried avos and hard fruit like apples, etc. I also packed some traveling eating utensils that I bought at REI. They wanted to confiscate the plastic fork and knife, so I packed them. Don't carry onto the ship food in plain site or in a handbag. Pack it! Same with getting off and on the ship. Just be sneaky. If you get caught, be prepared for that. On the airplane, I carried on similar food and explained that It was my food. I don't eat airplane food. I did eat only the raw options on the airplane food menu--not much. When I got to Miami, there was an awesome outdoor tent selling an incredible amount of raw food. I feasted...found unripe sapote. Packed it on board and it ripened in my room. yummmm. In the restaurant, we didn't have any of the restrictions described in an earlier email. I was on Norweigan Cruise lines with their Freestyle Cruising system. You sit when and where you want, with whom. You order what you want. I asked for special salad, they gave it to me. Since we were going to Mexico, I figured they'd have guacamole. They did, but it was aweful-- mayonnaise !!!??? So I asked for plain avos. I had room service bring a fruit plate iin the mornings. It was great! I had raw smoothies on deck. I'm not afraid to ask what the ingredients are and what can be substituted, deleted or added. If all that fails, how do you feel about water fasting? :-) P.S. Remember to soak some nuts and then dehydrate the ones you won't eat on the plane or within a day. They travel well. Just bury all your food in your luggage. :-) If they take it out, give them your story, and pray. If you lose it, buy more when you get there. Whatcha gonna do? Peace--good luck Linda ----Original Message Follows---- RawSeattle RawSeattle RawSeattle [RawSeattle] Digest Number 307 7 Jun 2002 03:05:16 -0000
Guest guest
Great story Linda. So where did you cruise to? I'm trying to convince Joe, but he's not buying anything that has to do with a boat. Sounds like you had a great time. Shari
Guest guest
Bravo Jason. Well said. Now, can we put this to rest? Some people don't have time, nor the energy for all of this bickering. Thank you and peace to all, Syndee
