i heard about this on the VMB. here's the story:

Editor: I recently went to a local eating

establishment on A1A and was appalled by what I saw.

 

Located just inside the restaurant was one of those

machines where you put your money in and operate the

steel claws to position over the toy you want to win.

Hoping the steel claws will scoop up and drop in the

basket, the favored toy.

 

Now replace the image of the stuffed toy with a live

lobster.

 

For a few bucks, live animals have now become a source

of entertainment and amusement to whomever is willing

to manipulate the machine's steel claws. I find this

totally barbaric and inhumane.

 

Oh, by the way, if you are lucky enough to " win " your

prize, you cannot take it off the premises; it must be

killed and cooked on the spot. Explain that to the

crying 5-year-old who finally comprehends what is

about to happen to the " prize " she just won.

 

As a local, I have always enjoyed the casual

atmosphere and food at this establishment, but will

never go there again, nor will I recommend it. I

cannot patronize a business that fails to see just how

disgusting machines like this are.

What do you expect from a place that virtually has only dead animal

body parts on their menu, which includes alligator tails. A vegan

would starve to death instantly in a place like that and a vegetarian

would starve rapidly.
