Guest guest
Hi Folks! Some thoughtful (non-veg) friends of mine recently returned from a vacation in Virginia and brought me this article that was in the local Virginia newspaper. This article about the Hoyles, who started the sanctuary several years ago, is very inspiring. What angels these people are! The article notes how they came to be vegan, too; and they rescue unwanted mini pigs (who don't end up staying very mini!) and have taken in a few factory farm pigs as well. They are hoping to expand their sanctuary--they have the land but not the means yet to develop more of it for the pigs. Perhaps some of you can find some spare change to send along their way. ;-) I wrote the journalist who wrote the article and also asked her for the link to her following week article mentioned about a vegan bed and breakfast in Virginia--assuming it's not the Sweet Thyme Inn in W Virginia featured in VegNews--which, of course, I mentioned to her! http://www.timesdispatch.com/entertainment/MGBXUA4SB4D.html The journalist, Janet Caggiano, can be reached at jcaggiano. Pls send her a quick appreciation note email and let's show her what a positive impact her article has had on the west coast as well! Maybe she'll write more articles on the subject!
