Guest guest
Dear Friends, After a short hiatus, the Vegan Video Brigade will be back in action this Friday! We'll be at Market & Powell tomorrow evening from 7 pm 'till people start complaining about the cold. If you haven't made it out to the V.V.B., you owe it to yourself to come out. Not only is the V.V.B. a wonderful, positive, non-threatening, fun way to do serious outreach and advocacy work for veganism and animals, it's also a great experiment in sociology. * Be amazed as large groups of people crowd around our television, responding wildly to the images on PETA's Meet Your Meat video, urging their friends to watch, and engaging our troops in dialogue about food choices. * Feel disheartened (but smug) as frat boys, yuppies, and tourists from Amarillo, Texas make annoying (but predictable) comments on how they get hungry when they watch animals being slaughtered (really, who needs to take a sociology course when you could just come out to the Vegan Video Brigade?). * Feel pleased at the end of the evening after helping distribute hundreds of leaflets (we typically go through 350 - 500 leaflets through an evening) turning people onto food choices which are healthier for them, better for the environment, and kinder to our fellow creatures. What could be better? 7 pm. Market & Powell. Hope you can make it. Cheers, Alka
