Guest guest
I know there are a few teachers on the list... and parents, too! So thought this may be of interest to some, especially since school is back in session. It's always handy to know what's out there for the future veg*n leaders and activists :-) We will eventually archive this list on our website so if you have updates, do let me know. Many of these items are free, either via download or via mail. I have put links to #5 and #6 in my email signature... try it, especially when you email your non-veggie family & friends... Cheers, Tammy 1) FARM SANCTUARY http://www.farmsanctuary.org/media/pr_teach.htm Innovative Teacher’s Guide and Materials Available from Farm Sanctuary: Cultivating Compassion, a teacher’s guide with student materials, is now available to teachers, free of charge, from Farm Sanctuary. The material offers a gentle, thought-provoking, sometimes humorous, but always realistic approach to a difficult subject often ignored in the classroom: the plight of farm animals. Students are encouraged to look critically at impressions of farm life that they have always taken for granted, compare them with the new information they are being given, and explore its relation to their own principles and values. The materials have been designed for three levels of students: Elementary (recommended for grades 3-5), Intermediate (recommended for grades 6-8), and Secondary (recommended for grades 9-12).
