Guest guest Posted September 29, 2002 Report Share Posted September 29, 2002 Hi all I had a full wknd... not a banner experience in comparison to so much as Ive heard (and I will admit I am jealous of) from my friends on the list, but considering Im a vegetarian living in the dairy (rolls eyes) state... I went to a HUGE cranberry festival on Saturday. Over 3 days that little town of 300 saw over a hundred thousand pass through it... for all you San Franciscans, thats big here. The best I got out of it (of course, lotsa berries) was some jars of pickled vegetables. They will ship them, you can order here: www.pickledveggies.com They have a great selection, the mushrooms, onions, babycorn, olives, etc. all erupt with flavor, worth the price. Today, I attended the (long-awaited) Vegan Tasting at rural high school cafeteria. Made some new acquaintances, had worthwhile conversations, and indulged in some mighty fine samples. This is the first gathering of like-minded folk of this nature that I have been aware of in the region since I moved here at the beginning of '01. The facilitator was more focused on the health issues and,unfortunately, did not light upon the plight of the animals, as time was short. A good time was had by all.
