Guest guest
** please forward ** Volunteers needed for Wildlife Protection Project! Spend this Saturday morning saving animals by creating a wildlife ³sanctuary² in San Francisco! In Defense of Animals volunteers and the SF Recreation & Parks Department have joined forces to minimize the use of cruel traps on local wildlife by renovating the landscape along the Great Highway (where it meets Wawona St.) on the first Saturday of every month, from 9 a.m. to noon. Last month was our first time planting, and it was a lot of fun! We successfully planted over 100 native shrubs, and got a very interesting lesson from our gardener on the important role they play in our ecosystem. There¹s a lot more planting to be done, and we can¹t do it without your help! Don¹t miss this fun and important opportunity to protect our native creatures while enjoying the outdoors, meeting new people and snacking on free vegan goodies this Saturday morning! Feel free to bring anyone you think might be interested. Please give me a call to confirm that you can make it; I can be reached at 415-388-9641 x 19, or by email at carla. Hope to see you there! Carla Brauer Program Coordinator In Defense of Animals 131 Camino Alto, Suite E Mill Valley, CA 94941 Tel. 415-388-9641 x19 --- It is the policy of In Defense of Animals to no longer use language that accepts the current concept of animals as property, commodities and/or things. Rather than refer to ourselves or others as " owners " of animals we share our lives with, we now refer to ourselves and others as " guardians " of our animal friends and to animals as " he " or " she " rather than " it. " Guardians do not buy or sell animals; instead they rescue and adopt. We urge you to do the same.
