Guest guest
Best option is Option #1: Get off Embarcadero BART, left turn on Embaradero with your BIKE. When you get to SF MUNI Pier, go up a small hill which is the beginning of the BAY trail. On block later, you're at Fort Mason Option #2-At Montgomery BART, take 30 stockton at 3rd St and Market, get off Laguna and walk 2 blocks Option #3-carpool, try to take 280, do not take 101 when going near Cesaer Chaves (Army) it is ALWAYS jammed, definately on weekends. at 280 exit 6th st, right turn at Brannan St, left turn at Embaradero, left at Bay street, following the cars to make a right turn into Laguna. 280 is more scenic coming from Palo Alto. I tried taking 101 at times to save 5 minutes, but it usually is the opposite. , Kim Flournoy <kim@w...> wrote: > Take the Embarcadero all the way around from the Embarcadero BART station. > It's a very easy, flat ride pretty much all of the way. > > > On Fri, 11 Oct 2002, diana marmorstein wrote: > > > well, i don't know about anyone else, but i've been scared silly by the news > > of the " competition " on sunday. the thought of driving into s.f. along with > > a million other people is about as appealing as a slab of meat! but public > > transit would take 1.5 hrs each way for me. > > anybody planning to carpool from the east bay? or does anyone know of a > > route from bart that's flat enough for biking with a 10-speed (for someone > > not in good enough shape for uphill biking)? > > thanks. > > > > ciao, > > diana
Guest guest
You can also take BART to Civic Center and take the 47 or 49 bus to the end of the line (Aquatic Park) and take a beautiful walk over the hill to Fort Mason.
