Guest guest Posted October 24, 2002 Report Share Posted October 24, 2002 I just wanted to send out a quick reminder of the Farm Sanctuary Walkathon happening *THIS* Sunday, October 27th in San Francisco. 12 NOON: Meet at Justin Herman Plaza (Embarcadero at Market, 2 blocks from the Embarcadero BART station). 12:30PM: Begin walking. There will be a shorter loop within a longer loop, for young kids and others who want a shorter walk. BETWEEN 1:30PM & 2PM: We will reconvene at Justin Herman Plaza. 2PM-3PM: Post-walk rally at Justin Herman Plaza featuring speakers and musicians. After the rally, there will be an optional lunch at Golden Era (fresh Vietnamese vegetarian on O'Farrell at Leavenworth). Many of you are aware that Alka is leaving the Bay Area at the end of the month (Monday, October 28th!) to assume the position of Campaigns Manager at PeTA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). This may be the last opportunity for many of us to say " goodbye for now " to Alka and to let her know how much she and her endless energy and dedication to animals has meant to us.
