Who is Johnny Steele?

Johnny Steele started performing stand up comedy in 1984 and within just a

few years was performing at top clubs in the industry. From 1997 to 1998

Steele was host of the critically acclaimed Live 105 Morning Radio Show -

four hours of gags, humorous banter, and interviews. The San Francisco

Chronicle called it the 'best morning chatter show' and both The San

Francisco Weekly's annual readers' poll and the San Francisco Publicity Club

picked it best show in the city.

From 1999 to 2001 Steele was co-host of KRON/Bay TV's The Show. Johnny's

informal interview style and outrageous ad-lib comments kept his co-host,

guests, and viewers laughing. Johnny and fellow satirist Will Durst just

completed their Big Fat Mid-Summer Comedy Tour. The topical sketch and stand

up revue is an offshoot of their successful and often sold out Big Fat Year

End Kiss Off Comedy Show.

Johnny is currently working on a monologue about his journey to find peace

in an America gone mad with consumption, sprawl, and tackiness. It's

tentatively titled " Slow Food " or " From Sammy and Dean to Krispy and Kreme, "

and will debut in fall.

Johnny claims to hate fast food and says he hasn't eaten it for more than

twenty years. He's been a vegetarian ( " okay, some fish " ) since 1984.
