Guest guest Posted October 31, 2002 Report Share Posted October 31, 2002 Whilst eating at my usual Pakistani joint last night, I couldn't help notice a brand new Indian place across the road, which is exclusively vegetarian. It is on the corner of University and Martin Luther King here in Berkeley. For years this has been the location of a California Cuisine place called Drago's. It is called Udupi Palace and it opened a couple days ago, and has a huge banner draped across its window. The awning still has the old cafe's name, so look for the banner. You can get a eight dish thali dinner for $7. Very friendly people, and the food is among the best I've ever tasted (Indian is my favourite cuisine, so I should know).
