Volunteers Urgently Needed for In Defense of Animals' Wildlife

Protection Project!

Spend this Saturday morning saving animals by helping to create a

wildlife “sanctuary” in San Francisco!

In Defense of Animals volunteers and the SF Recreation & Parks

Department have joined forces to minimize the use of cruel traps on

local wildlife by renovating the landscape along the Great Highway

where it meets Wawona St. on the first Saturday of every month, from 9

a.m. to noon.  Last month we planted over 100 native plants and shrubs,

but there's still much to be done.

Why should YOU be there this Saturday?

- it's outdoors and great exercise!

- meet awesome people who care about animals as much as you do!

- enjoy free vegan treats: yummy muffins, bagels and juice await you!

- bring beautiful native plants back into the ecosystem where they

belong!

- you're saving animals from a cruel death by trapping!

I hope you can make it -- feel free to bring anyone you think might be

interested along with you! Please give me a call to confirm that you

can make it (you don't have to, but it'll help me get an idea of what

to expect). I can be reached at 415-388-9641 x19, or by email at

carla.

Hope to see you there!

---

It is the policy of In Defense of Animals to no longer use language that

accepts the current concept of animals as property, commodities and/or

things. Rather than refer to ourselves or others as " owners " of animals

we

share our lives with, we now refer to ourselves and others as

" guardians " of

our animal friends and to animals as " he " or " she " rather than " it. "

Guardians do not buy or sell animals; instead they rescue and adopt. We

urge

you to do the same.
