Vegan Video Brigade/Nov. Activism!

Hello everyone!

 

The holiday season is here once again, bringing with it many great

opportunities to spread the message of compassion to all living beings.

I've included some ideas for things we can do below, and I also wanted

to invite you all to join a new email list, Freedom for Animals (yes,

*another* one, but quite unique) which I created to serve as a forum

for local animal activists to share ideas and make plans. Anyone

interested in animal rights activism is welcome to join!

November activism . . .

 

The Vegan Video Brigade lives on! I'd like to set up the VVB sometime

soon -- maybe next Friday? If you'd be available to join in on the

fun, let me know so I can plan on it. I think Powell St. was the most

effective location we've been to, but I'm open to suggestions!

 

Veg Thanksgiving! This is a frightening time for the turkeys -- but

also a once-a-year opportunity to remind people that killing birds is

no way of giving thanks. I've got some posters and flyers, and I'd be

willing to get more ... any ideas for things we can do with them?

 

Nov. is Fur Free Month! Just yesterday, the UK Sunday Times claimed

that " fur is back. " If this isn't a cry for a strong public education

campaign, what is? Fortunately, there's no shortage of things to be

done:

 

- Demonstrate! Every Sunday from 2pm - 4pm in front of Neiman Marcus

(on the corner of Geary & Stockton St.). Help us keep up a strong

anti-fur presence and hand out literature to educate the public on the

true horrors behind the fur industry.

 

- Fur Free Friday is November 29th!

 

I guess the list goes on & on... I really look forward to working with

you all to make a difference for animals! Don't forget to to

the Freedom for Animals list if you're interested! I'd like for it to

become a place we can discuss activism in more detail.
