Just a couple of doors down from the Herbivore 2 on Divisadero

Street, I recently noticed this small place.

Here is the info:

Village Store

Vegetarian African & Carribean Kitchen

505 Divisadero St. (near Fell St.)

San Francisco

415-922-2442

This is a very informal place that is being redecorated. It has just

a few small round tables. In the front, a sign says, " Sister Sarah's

Cook House, " or something like that. In the back, there is

an " African/Carribean shop and Ancestor Gallery located behind the

kitchen. " A couple of times I have been there, some of the incense

smells from the back have filled the front dining area.

There is a small menu with sandwiches, tofu burger, veggie sausage,

salads, sambusa, fruit smoothies, a few desserts, and always a daily

special ($6.95) served with salad.

As far as I can tell, everything Sarah makes is vegan, although honey

is available as an optional sweetener.

Also, the menu states that provide 100% organic fruits and vegetables.

I liked this place.

Regards,

Jon Spear
