Guest guest
> " grrlburn " <Grrlburn >Slideshow Reminder: 11/7 @ 8 pm > ANIMAL LIBERATION IS A WOMEN'S ISSUE!! I suppose that's a catchy phrase to simpletons, but it's also an idiotic one, and more importantly, detracts from the focus of non-human animals. However, " Feminists for Animal Rights " is an idiotic issue that poses a problem for all of us non-simpletons who are concerned with animal rights. > Animal Rights Direct Action Coalition and Feminists > for Animal Rights present: >ANIMAL LIBERATION THROUGH AN ECO-FEMINIST LENS >a slideshow presentation An organized (?) group called Feminists for Animal Rights?! Geez, I sure do love (and hate) the Bay Area! > covering the history of patriarchal attitudes > towards women and non-human animals. The show also > highlights the parallels between the objectification, > exploitation and abuse of women and non-human animals > in contemporary society, from their role in > pornographic media to the animal testing and > slaughterhouse industries. Apparently I'm rather naive regarding the animal pornography industry, just as I am regarding any special involvement of female humans in the vivisection & slaughterhouse operations. But the gaggle sounds like what in 'male vernacular' would be considered a " CIRCLE-JERK! " Be sure to get a permit from the fire department to burn some bras, or maybe because the fire-department is male-dominated ( & fire hoses are phallic symbols), DON'T get a permit, and if the Fire Marshall issues any citations, it's an example of blatant harassment... Who are the evil males that launched PETA's campaign a couple years back of some naked women -- cute naked women, not fat, ugly naked women -- being exploited as part of the PETA anti-fur campaign (and speaking of fur, I could make a nice pun here...)? That objectification by PETA Men fueled all sorts of lust in us evil, heterosexual guys, while of course any lesbians that got a positive charge out of it were merely 'celebrating' the beauty of women's bodies (at least that of pretty women like Pam Anderson). GROW SOME BALLS, ECO-FEMME CHICKS (figuratively only, please), and quit trying to link your own real/perceived personal and societal inadequacies with that of truly meaningful causes such as that of (non-human) animal rights! Pity-parties like what's going on tonight at " The Women's Building " will only perpetuate the stereotype that women are weak creatures who are unable to fend for themselves in society. But then, I suppose that's what many 'feminists' really want -- it's a convenient excuse for failures. Instead of seeking shelter & solace at " The Women's Building " & getting all worked up, how about doing something which will focus on the real and true protection of non-human animals? Remember, if us men are truly powerful enough to have kept you women repressed over the centuries, then you can't win a fight against us powerful men, no matter how loud you scream nor how many bras you burn. A real feminist wouldn't be weak enough to need to form/join a feminist fringe-group to plan & carry out animal rights operations. So how about you tell the silly & self-serving 'Feminists for Animal Rights' group to take a hike in search of sensibility & respect, and while they're doing that, the rest of us humans can get together and focus on helping non-human animals. Then afterwards, I'll be happy to go out with heterosexual males & lesbian females to the Hustler Club, in order to help celebrate (worship!) the feminine body and equally-important, the FREE-WILL that women have to show off their bodies (often for a lot of $$$ -- more $$$ than males doing the same thing would get). No one had to empower them to do it, nor force them to do it, despite what the fat/ugly/jealous women who could never get hired at a place like that would like the world to believe. Maybe while there, we can hold an unofficial audition for another PETA media campaign! I'd actually love to attend the *show* tonight. But what's really funny is that I won't be able to attend the ARDAC/FAR event nor a Hustler Club event tonight, because I'll be putting in some time at an animal shelter, then my girlfriend has *demanded* to be allowed to come to my home tonight and help me clean the place -- specifically my laundry room & bathroom, while I assemble a desk & set up another room (talk about stereotypes...)! We'll then go soak in a hot tub, and come back here & go to sleep, after some worshipping of each other's bodies. I pity those of you who can't find anything more productive or rewarding to do than go to " The Women's Building " (I wonder if the funder's, architects, builders, and custodians are women?) & suffer though some " eco-feminist " brainwashing to redirect some of your focus away from the issue of animal rights.
