Guest guest
Dear List, I second what Colleen wrote. The Nature Conservancy is a big, mean, bad, very rich organization, kinda like the Republican Party, and not much different. They certainly do not need your $25 check. If you are feeling in a giving mood, donate the money to a local organization like SFVS, or take one of Colleen's cooking classes, or support a local Vegan restaurant, etc. Think Globally, Spend Locally. - Joe > Hi, > > I've posted this here before, but I just thought you might like to know that > the by clicking on the rainforest " free click " website, the nature conservancy > gets money. i don't think you know this, but the nature conservancy, while > also being a proponent of hunting animals, was the leader behind killing > thousands of sheep on santa cruz island in california a few years back. the > aerial shoots maimed and destroyed thousands of sheep until animal rescue > groups finally convinced them to stop (some) and allow the sheep to live out > their lives in sanctuaries (such as Farm Sanctuary). Guest guest
Hello all-- I've been a Nature Conservancy member for several years now, and heard my first hint of their other-than-save-the-land practices from Gene Bauston at Farm Sanctuary. With Joe's and Colleen's info, I will use this as the perfect opportunity to respond to the Conservancy (my membership is due for renewal!) that I will NOT be renewing because of such and such reasons, and will consider rejoining once they start showing compassion for the Earth AND the animals that inhabit it. We all know there are reasonable solutions for everything if we look hard enough, but shooting animals, etc, simply because they are a " nuisance " (caused by HUMANS in the first place!) certainly is not one of them. Thanks for the information-- Lori VegNews wrote: > Dear List, > > I second what Colleen wrote.
