Guest guest
Thanks for doing this, Jeff. I like choice # 5, but without the hyphen in Raw Foods. Remember, I have a free printshop (at my job) at our disposal. :-) Linda ----Original Message Follows---- RawSeattle RawSeattle RawSeattle [RawSeattle] Digest Number 386 3 Sep 2002 12:45:08 -0000
Guest guest
Hi There Fellow Veggie Friends, I thought I'd pass this along. Perhaps you've already caught wind about this fabulous act of dedication towards the well-being of animals these folks are demonstrating. I'm impressed. I hope they plan to visit the bay area. Better yet, I'd love to join them. By the way, I had sent a previous notice about the EarthSave Turkey-Free Thanksgiving Celebration held on Sunday, November 24th at 5:30. I neglected to include the details about what to bring. The potlucks are vegetarian (preferably vegan (no animal products at all)). Please bring a delicious dish to feed 8 to 10, a friend or family member to share it with, your own plate, utensils and a cup. A printed recipe would be a nice addition. Also, if you can volunteer to help set-up, please arrive by 4:30 or please plan to stay late to help clean-up. Thank you, Syndee ***************************************************************** On January 5, 2003, HOPE-GEO will launch its Compassion for Animals Road Expedition (CARE), which will span 40 states and 4 provinces in 23 weeks by means of its FaunaVision-equipped CARE-a-van. Among the events on the CARE agenda will be (hopefully) a series of vegan potlucks in conjunction with all or most of the Earthsave chapters and other vegan groups enroute, where the CARE team will give a CARE presentation, and the winning dishes across the continent will be featured in the eventual CARE Tour Vegan Cook ! Book. To view the CARE tour itinerary (also see below), route map, background, photo-gallery, etc., please log on to http://www.HOPE-CARE.org . The CARE team comprises three members: CARE’s campaign director and tour organizer Anthony Marr is a world known wildlife preservationist who has led three expeditions into deep rural India, conducted uncover operations in both Asia and America, and been featured in the award-winning TV wildlife documentary series Champions of The Wild (aired in 20 countries) as its Champion of the Bengal Tiger. On home turf Canada he is best known as a leading anti-hunting activist against the Western Canada Grizzly Bear Trophy Hunt and the 300,000/year Eastern Canada Commercial Seal Hunt. He is the author of a book titled OmniScience: Earth’s Shining Destiny. He is also a vegetarian and has spoken at several Earthsave potlucks before. CARE's vegan advocacy director Brenda Davis is a registered dietitian-nutritionist, popular author and an internationally acclaimed speaker. She is co-author of four must-read nutrition books – Becoming Vegetarian – an international best-seller, being completely revised and updated th! is year; Becoming Vegan – an advanced nutrition guide for all vegans and those moving in that direction; Dairy-free and Delicious – an amazing resource for anyone wishing to avoid dairy foods; and the soon-to-be-released Defeating Diabetes which will offer new hopes for all those who suffer from type 2 diabetes. CARE’s assistant campaigner Cory Davis, at the early age of 15, is courageous enough to take his first great leap of faith for a cause he feels passionate about. Since a toddler Cory has demonstrated boundless compassion for animals, and has encouraging his friends and classmates to go veggie. His sacrifice is to leave his school and friends for the greater part of a year, when he will receive home-schooling by Brenda and Anthony. He will be regarded as role model for the thousands of students he will be addressing in the course of the tour. CARE employs a CARE-a-van equipped with a 54” FaunaVision TV capable of attracting large street-audiences by its very presence, for maximum audio-visual impact. CARE is funded mainly by Justice for Animals Fund and the Christian Vegetarian Association. CARE also receives vigorous support from groups of like mind and spirit, including Vegan Outreach, VegSource, and In Defense of Animals.
