Guest guest Posted November 9, 2002 Report Share Posted November 9, 2002 Hey everyone, Tonight on Kron 4 news (channel 4) at 9 they featured a story on " vegan diets " asking whether or not they are healthy. It was really bad reporting by any standards. First of all, even though the bit was called " vegan diets " , they never once talked about vegan diets but rather vegetarian diets. But that is minor compared to the fact that they only spoke to two people for their " professional " opinions. One was a doctor who believed that vegetarian diets are not healthy, that meat helps to prevent cancer and that meat contains many important nutrients and antioxidants that are difficult to find in vegetables. To get another opinion rather than ask a pro veggie doctor they talked to a chef at greens. All in all the piece implied that vegetarian diets are not healthy. Please take a minute to write to Kron 4 at www.Kron4.com or to call them at (415) 561-8995 and let them know that their story was misleading and demand equal time from a doctor with a pro-veg view.
