Guest guest
Along these lines, I have been an active environmentalist even before I went vegan at the age of 12. There are some groups I was a member of at the age of 9 (thanks to my Nana) - but have since discontinued my membership after learning about the fact that they condone the killing " non-native " animals or condone hunting/fishing. Here is my own list of groups I am no longer a member of, and groups I still support (last I checked, with a phone call to the groups listed last year, they weren't supportive of hunting/fishing): Groups that condone hunting/killing of animals: Audubon Society National Wildlife Federation The Sierra Club The Wilderness Society The Wildlife Society World Wildlife Fund Humane Environmentalist/Wildlife Groups: Center for Biological Diversity International Fund for Animal Welfare American Humane Association Friends of Animals, Inc. The Fund for Animals Environmental Defense Fund Animal Protection Institute Oceanic Society Rainforest Action Network Earthjustice International Wildlife Education & Conservation Earth Island Institute Greenpeace Union of Concerned Scientists Defenders of Wildlife Perhaps PETA would have an even more inclusive list? Also, local & national wildlife rescue organizations are good/safe to support as they try to save wild animals, not harm them. Here's my own list of rescue orgs I support: California Turtle and Tortoise Club Rescue and Adoption Lindsay Wildlife Museum Willamette Wildlife Rescue Cascades Raptor Center The Marine Mammal Center The Black Beauty Ranch Asian Black Bear Rescue United Pegasus Foundation Hope this helps! I know of no achievement through vivisection, no scientific discovery, that could have not been obtained without such barbarism and cruelty. The whole thing is evil.
