I am not a great fan of Instant Messenger either. I do, however, enjoy participating in or even just observing rapid exchanges of emails of the sort that Angie, Graham, Jak, Michael, Oliver, Rosanne, etc. are good at. I guess my main observation therefore would be that V U might be the most appropriate group and additionally something towards the very end of the day the best possible time. (way past midnight for Rosanne :-)) And finally not too often - make it a sort of occasional chat party - possibly sometimes topically themed ? The members of VU have never expressed an interest in chat, unlike those who were scared off by the VU members. As such I am raising the idea here first where there was interest, and where people won't be scared off by the thought of an unrestrained real time Big and Edith combo coming at them. (i.e. Join me at 8 pm tonite to talk about vegan Thanksgiving meal planning or every Saturday let's chat about raising your kids veg*n or why you need to take B-12 every day) " I thought I had better clarify -- I am **not** actually planning to be in the Chat room tonite at 8 pm to talk about vegan Thanksgiving meal planning... That was just an example of what we could use Chat for! If anyone is interested in meeting monthly, weekly, bi-weekly, spontaneously for Chat sessions to just chat, or to talk about specific topics, let me know or feel free to organize!
