Guest guest
Set your VCRs! " The Witness " will be showing on PBS in the Bay Area this month, on November 18th and November 20th. (I saw this in my free copy of " Veg News " that I picked up at the Green Festival on Saturday. :-) I have never seen this documentary, and I will be recording it. If you are unable to catch either of the two broadcasts, let me know and I would be happy to duplicate a copy for you if you provide me with a blank video tape. The website also has several printable posters - I'm printing one out and posting it in my office, and I'll put a few more around the neighborhood. Let me know if you would like the " updated " poster pdf for your own uses. Cheers, -Kim -------------------- http://www.tribeofheart.org/events/ktehrelease.htm On Monday, November 18th at 10:00 PM and Wednesday, November 20th at midnight, Bay Area PBS station KTEH (over the air Channel 54, or check local listings for cable channels) will premiere the award-winning documentary The Witness. The Witness tells the inspiring and life-affirming story of Eddie Lama, whose life went from one of despair and hopelessness to one of compassion and activism after " being smitten by a kitten. " Lama received the Peace Abbey's Courage of Conscience Award in 2001. Past honorees have included Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama. Peace Abbey award presenter Mary Margaret Earl stated, " Eddie is a living miracle. A regular guy from Brooklyn -- who works construction and watched his first cat to get a date -- has become a hero for the two-footed as well as the four-footed. He is inspiring others to follow their own conscience and change the world too. "
