Guest guest
Hello one and all, WOW, what a comotion... So, here we go - my response: My email said 20s-30s with flexibility, and that's what I meant. My guess is that a 17 year old and a 75 year old are LESS likely (though I admit it's not impossible) to find something in common than are a 36 and a 27 year old - based on my short life experience only. In all singles events, veggie or not, it is common to define an age group, to maximize likelihood of connections. Just aiming for the center of he bell curve - but yes - of course the bell curve also has tails on both ends. Finally note - EVERYONE who wrote back was added to the mailing list, and so far the age range is from 21 to 47. The idea was, and is, to see who's interested, and go from there. Bottom line - all those who are interested in the basic idea - WRITE! When the first event (hopefully first week of Dec) will be annouced, so will the demographics of the group. People can make their own decisions then. As for me - I am happy to provide you with the same info I asked all of you to provide: I am female, 30, hetero, researcher. AND, will meet with Mat this week probably, so not so anonymous (are we still on Mat?) Finally, and MOST important. The main problem the list has right now is not age, but, (and I was VERY surprised by this) - a huge male/female bias in favor of males!!!! about 3-4 males for every female! And I always thought there were more female vegetarians....? Or does the ratio change when only singles are counted? Maybe females are just more burnt up from the " scene " ? I don't know, but guys, call your veggie female friends, tell them about this, and promise them there will be nothing further from a (veggie) meat market :-) Hope to hear from you soon...
