The main problem the list has right now >is not age, but, (and I was VERY surprised by this) - a huge >male/female bias in favor of males!!!! about 3-4 males for every >female! to this male, that's no surprise whatsoever. If you get the inside stats on any other dating service (e.g. match.com) you'll find a similar ratio. That's why I became skeptical of this long ago and prefer my " make lots of friends. " approach. Partly this is basic biology. Males have been given the task by evolution to be the proactive ones, among whom the females choose their " mate. " There is no species where it works the other way around. Notice how the male birds are always covered with lots of bright colored feathers, which they are obliged to show off to best effect during courtship, while the female birds are just kind of brown all over and watch the show, making a subtle gesture in due time? Same principle at work. >And I always thought there were more female vegetarians....? So did I but actually the SFVS meetings I've been to the ratio is about 50:50. Also don't forget the census figures cited earlier that the Bay Area has somewhat more men than women in the 20 - 50 age range we've kind of settled on. It's the other way around in Boston.
