Guest guest
Greetings Sam and friends, I am writing (on behalf of the Bay Area Veg Fair planning committee) in response to Sam's earlier question regarding whether or not Bay Area Veg Fair 2003 will have a food court. We couldn't agree more that this is an integral element to the fair, as we want attendees to know that vegetarian meals can be delicious and filling. We attempted to have hot food available by local restaurants at this year's fair but were blocked by the Santa Clara Convention Center (where the event is held). They claimed it would compete with their own concession offerings and, under no conditions, would allow us to do it. After the great success of the first festival, we have a little more leverage (they anticipate future business from us). We are currently in the negotiation phase of bringing hot food to the fair and will do whatever it takes to make this happen in 2003. If we have to compromise is some way that does not benefit the event, we will most likely look for a new venue for 2004 that allows restaurants and vendors to sell food. There's your update! Thanks for your support, Colleen Holland .. . . . . . . . .
