Guest guest
You won't believe it, I had to go into a courtyard, pass a gift shop, go thru a health food store, and found one of the CLEANEST place to eat a veggie Indian lunch. The Heart-Road Traveller 1828 Euclid Ave/hearst & Ridge just one block from UC Berkeley Berkeley, CA 510 665 1838 Weekday lunch ONLY 11:30am - 2pm One entree $3.99 two entree $4.99 includes saffron rice and naan bread at least one of the entrees is vegan, Inside the health food store, there are lots of vegan desserts (rice dream pie), snacks (organic fruits 75cents), drinks, frozen dinners (Amy's) you can buy at the store. There are about 4 tables with 12 available seats for customers. I do not know if the food tastes good. The veggie food service started last year. By the way, this health food store is owned by a Sri Chimnony (spelling is wrong) religious group. See Anada Fura's review in SF, www.vegdining.com which is also from the same religious group. -- By the way, I posted OVER 7 new restaurant listings at www.vegdining.com. If I can accidentally bump into all these great places to eat, you can too. We need your to help so travelers can find good food, plus why not support a veggie friendly place rather than non-friendly place? Please take the time, just a few minutes, to post any findings or any restaurant reviews for all. -- Haveli will now offer Vegan meals EVERY FRIDAY, the dessert will also be vegan. VVEGAN VVRIDY (friday) yea! I will plan a friday lunch fairly soon, I will keep everyone posted. -- Yesterday's Hulu dinner had 42 participants. The food was great. I heard from 4 people that were on the waiting list and they were not able to go. I don't know how many were on the waiting list. Hulu can actually have more seats, they just have to get additional chairs for their tables...up to 50. (if you plan to have a big dinner party) The restaurant said the customers seem to be happy, no real special requests like they had on one of their previous dinners. (customers had special dietary requests without giving the restaurant early notice-pls don't cause extra work without warning to the restaurant when dining in a group) -- Santa Cruz, the vegan captial of the World, offers a lot of veggie and organic options at great afforable prices. Would you believe Santa Cruz students are asking for an In and Out Burger and Krispy Kreme joint in their area? p.s. Krispy Kreme is horrible , vegan or not! Hot or cold! Glazed or unglazed. I have to admit though, their marketing is great.
