Guest guest
(From VIVA) **Please Forward** http://www.vivausa.org/Campaigns/pigs/honeybakedhams.htm Join Viva! and expose the public to the Horror Behind Holiday Hams this Christmas (before December 25). During the spring & summer of 2001, I investigated pig factory farms. What I saw will burn in my mind and heart forever -- the boredom of the sows in the gestation crates and the piglets in the 'nursery,' all alone except for the flies that covered them. Then there was the pig who died as I was videotaping the filthy living conditions, and another whose leg was so badly injured he had to struggle to lie down. I looked at these pigs as I videotaped them and promised them that the suffering they endured would not be in vain. And I would make sure I did what I could to expose their plight. We are trying to do that, but we need your help! Honeybaked Ham locations, as well as regular grocery stores, will be busy with people buying their holiday dinners days before Christmas. Let's get them to think about the animals they are eating. Even 2 friendly leafleters at each location can reach a lot of consumers. Viva! will send you posters, and leaflets to hand out to the public about pigs on factory farms. This pages links to an order form http://www.vivausa.org/Campaigns/pigs/honeybakedhams.htm and you can send us the details! LAST DAY TO ORDER MATERIALS IS DECEMBER 11. For a sample news release http://www.vivausa.org/PressReleases/2002/pr0202.htm Last Easter around 100 events took place across the USA and Canada. Activists were able to get some customers to turn away and others to consider vegetarianism. Honeybaked Ham stores are located around the country (300 stores total - for a partial listing see below). To find your state and store near you click here: http://www.honeybaked.com Honeybaked Horror makes their money off the suffering and death of these wonderful and intelligent creatures. Let's make sure the cries of these pigs are heard. This industry *must* die. If there is not a Honeybaked Ham nearby, a local grocery store is a great place to reach people. If you need encouragement watch the following videos: Viva!'s " When Pigs Cry " at http://www.vivausa.org/Campaigns/pigs/visualmedia.htm PeTA's Seaboard investigation at http://www.peta.org/feat/invest/index.html We always encourage people to have information on other animals killed for food on hand. For the pigs, lauren Ornelas US Campaigns Director Viva!USA www.vivausa.org list to join our e-mail alert list ACT for students (materials & alert list) Honeybaked Hams are located in these states (# of locations): CT; MA; NH, NJ, NM, NY-Long Island, NY, LA area (over 10), Orange County (over 5), San Francisco/San Jose (over 10), San Diego (at least 5) other California locations (11), GA, CO, TX (quite a few), MD, and VA.
