Guest guest
Hello friends, I just wanted to remind you all that Fur Free Friday, the largest anti-fur demonstration of the year, is taking place THIS FRIDAY in San Francisco's Union Square from 10:00am - 2:00pm (march at noon). I hope you can make it! Please see the below alert, and tell all your friends. Also, I'm very concerned that we don't have a large truck or van to move our tables with -- if any of you do, or know someone who does, I'd be eternally grateful if you could help us load supplies and take them from our office in Marin to SF! Please give me a call at 415-722-8579 any time; I will also be checking my voicemail and email regularly. Thanks so much! Hope to see you at Fur Free Friday! --- FIGHT FUR INDUSTRY PROPAGANDA ON FUR FREE FRIDAY, NOV. 29th Over the past decade, efforts to stop the fur trade have enjoyed some success. However, despite our gains, we are now at a critical juncture. Celebrities and designers are once again flaunting animal skins as coats and trim, and the public is being swayed! More than ever before, we need to join together to speak out for the millions of animals who are gassed, trapped, imprisoned, strangled and anally electrocuted for the fur trade! Join In Defense of Animals on the busiest shopping day of the year to remind consumers about the cruel origins of fur and encourage them to shop with compassion. We will have Action Tables set up, where you can sign postcards, write letters, or take our pledge and be entered in a drawing for great cruelty-free prizes. We'll also have educational displays set up, with real traps and furs, and we will be playing video footage of fur trapping / farming practices. We will be marching around the square promptly at noon. Join us again from 7pm - 9pm, when we will be holding a candlelight vigil for the animals outside of notorious fur retailer Neiman Marcus (on the corner of Geary & Stockton, right across from Union Square). Call Carla at 415-399-9641 x19, or email carla for more information.
