Guest guest Posted December 4, 2002 Report Share Posted December 4, 2002 According to the Business section of today's Chron, Rainbow Grocery's packaged foods and bulk foods departments have discontinued carrying Israeli products at the request of a hate group that wants the boycott to spread to the entire store. While Rainbow paints a self-image of commitment to social justice and would never boycott anyone based on race, gender, or sexual orientation, it has now joined those who would discriminate against Israeli Jews simply because they are Israeli Jews. The boycott does not apply to products made in the Palestinian entity, which could have been an independent Palestinian state as early as 1947 if the Palestinians had accepted the U.N. resolution calling for a two state solution, a resolution that Israel has always accepted. If you find Rainbow's bigotry as unjust and ugly as I do, I urge you to contact Rainbow Grocery spokesperson Scott Bradley at 863-0620 or send him a fax at 863-8955. Please tell him that, as long as Rainbow follows this blatantly hateful policy, you will respond by boycotting Rainbow and buying your vegetarian foods elsewhere. Just say " no " to hate.
