Guest guest
This may be old news to some of you, but I read the other day that Philip Morris acquired Boca (as well as Balance Bar) back in 2000. I just can't see giving any money to that corporation. I'd be curious if people have any other information on the corporate ties of companies that make vegetarian " meat. " I'm especially interested in Morningstar Farms, since I may be singlehandedly keeping them in the black. Thanks!
Guest guest
I was a little concerned when I read this post. I mean, don't we want the " big " companies to see vegan foods as a " good investment " . How else are we ever going to someday see vegan candy in vending machenes? Don't get me wrong, I stopped buying silk when I found out Dean Foods took it over, but I still encourage people (non-vegan and new-vegan) to drink it because it IS vegan. I'm also a little concerned that SFBaveg admin aproves negative posts unrelated to veg/AR causes and then rejects the reply posts of veg/AR supporters. (this however is unrelated to the attached post, it just also been on my mind) I don't mean to piss anybody off. That's just what I've been thinking. sean SFBAVeg , " jdleav " <jonleavitt@h...> wrote: > This may be old news to some of you, but I read the other day that > Philip Morris acquired Boca (as well as Balance Bar) back in 2000. If we think a topic is very controversial or very sensitive, then we will try to prevent that from happening further. This means that messages with opposing or supporting viewpoints on the same topic will not be allowed through. The () SFBAVeg mailing list is one list and therefore discussions need to stay focused & on-topic, as per the Charter. In our new forum, hosted on our website, http://www.generationv.org/forum, we can have multiple areas... AND we specially have one for " General Debate & Discussion: Open discussion on any topic (including limericks & prose). All discussion threads that start in this forum stay in this forum. Please remember that you alone are responsible for the content of your messages. Just remember: if you can't take the heat, don't go near the fire. PLEASE try to keep it civil. " So, please feel free to continue whatever thread you are referring to in that forum. As it is all online, people browse the categories they are interested in, and are not innundated with discussions not of interest to them. By the way, Sean, and everyone, you can always contact Chris or myself, the SFBAVeg List Admins, at -owner . If you're looking for a response from us, that's the best way to reach us.
