Guest guest
Hi all, Just a reminder -- if you will be away for an extended period of time and your mailbox fills up and starts bouncing new messages, Groups will automatically put your membership in bounce status which basically means you're no longer a member. (To be reinstated, go to the Email Preferences section of My Groups to do it.) I suggest if you're not able to check your mail while you're away that you switch to " web-only/no mail " . Once you're back, switch to " daily " or " digest " . And -- if you have an out of office message on, PLEASE go no-mail, as that often gets sent to the entire list every time someone posts. Here's how to change your subscription options: -Switch to no-mail: -nomail No-mail means that you won't receive any messages from the list but you're still able to post to the list. If you have a ID, you'll be able to sign into and access the archives. -Switch to daily digest: -digest Daily digest is one message, a digest of all the individual messages. -Switch to individual messages: -normal This information is also in the FAQ. Please note that it can take 2- 3 days for your new selection to become effective. Cheers, Tammy
Guest guest
Autoresponders should also be used with caution. There are people flooding your mailbox looking for autoresponding messages. If they know you are gone, and can cross reference your e-mail with a name and address, they can (and have) rob your home of valuables. tony On Monday, December 16, 2002, at 12:05 PM, generationvegan <govegan wrote: > Hi all, > > Just a reminder -- if you will be away for an extended period of time > and your mailbox fills up and starts bouncing new messages, > Groups will automatically put your membership in bounce status which > basically means you're no longer a member.
