Shojin Ryori Cooking is vegetarian cooking without

meat,fish,eggs or dairy products.

(I think CHA JA-Berkely is based on that type of

cooking. The owner by the way, used to be a Japanese

Monk.)

The above proves that people have lived for centuries

on a vegan/vegetarian diet.

Japanese New Year is Jan 1. Around that time special

rice cake and vegan mochi soups will be eaten by the

Japanese people.

If I am planning a vegan New Year's luncheon on Dec 31

and Jan 1, I'll invite everyone. (I currently doing

some research,

I will post around Dec 28, ONLY if the vegan $5

luncheon will take place in SF Japantown)
