Guest guest
Dear friends & fellow veggies, The holiday season is intended to be a time of compassion and love, yet many fail to extend their compassion to all sentient beings. So often, animals' ability to feel and enjoy life is underestimated, and these creatures suffer as a result. If the suffering in this world will ever be lessened, humans must learn to appreciate all forms of life and realize that exploiting them is not only unnecessary, but also incredibly cruel. It is up to those of us who have already learned this to educate those who don't yet know. Fur is one of the most obvious forms of animal cruelty. While the animal rights movement has already made the majority of people view it as socially unacceptable, it is quickly coming back into " fashion " in the form of trim. The fur industry has convinced many that it is an environmentally sustainable " fabric, " and that animals on fur farms are treated well - both claims are far from the truth. What can you do to combat these lies and encourage people to shop with compassion? Join us in a peaceful demonstration in front of the notorious fur retailer, Neiman " Carcass " on Sunday, Dec. 22nd from 2:00 - 4:00pm on the corner of Stockton & Geary in SF. We will provide signs & leaflets (feel free to bring your own as well). If demonstrating isn't your style, please take a moment to call, write, or email Neiman Marcus and let them know you oppose the sale of real fur products. - Call 1.800.937.9146 and ask for the executive office - Write: Burton Tansky, CEO, Neiman Marcus, 1618 Main St. Dallas, TX 75201-4748 - Send an email at the click of a button: http://action.fund.org/action/index.asp?step=2 & item=1300 Thank you and happy holidays, Carla Brauer 415.756.4233 www.freedom4animals.org
