Guest guest
FYI, an update from lauren about VIVA's office fire. Since the mailing list doesn't allow attachments, her photos won't come through. If anyone really wants to see them, email me and I'll send you the original email intact. Given the recent storms with the hole in the roof, I think it is good news that the damage wasn't more extensive. Cheers, Tammy info Viva! Viva! Office Fire Update On Christmas Day, a breaking news story alerted me that a historic building in downtown Davis was on fire. There on the TV, I saw the building that holds Viva!USA's very small office on fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown and the Davis fire department is considering the fire to be suspicious. We were not allowed into the office to retrieve our belongings until December 30 because of an ongoing investigation into the cause. Although our office space suffered a lot of damage, Viva! was very fortunate that we lost only a few pieces of equipment in the fire (our fax machine, keyboard, and most likely our printer) and only about 1% of the literature in our office. We relocated this week. But the relocating has cost time and money. The phone line relocation will come to close to $300. If anyone can help donate to cover these costs, please do! We apologize for any delays in requests and hope that we are able to be back on our feet soon. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything. We want to thank all of the organizations (big and small) and individuals who have contacted us throughout this ordeal to see how we are and what we need. Words cannot express how much this has meant to us. An extra special thanks to those of you who helped us move and alerted others to our situation. We still plan on getting literature out for the movie premiere of Kangaroo Jack (Jan. 17) and the International Day Against Adidas for the roos (Feb.8). We also hope to have our new guide Vegan Basics on our website soon. We wish you all the best for the coming year and please know that this has not deterred our passion or drive for the animals. lauren Ornelas US Campaigns Director Viva!USA www.vivausa.org P.S.
