Guest guest
Recently I attended a vegan potluck with my two bags of Lay potato chips. As soon as I stepped into the house, the co-host --- a stranger I have never met before -- pulled me aside and asked me how I found out about the event. He then proceeded to tell me if I do not cook, then I should buy some potato salad, or some vegeatarian meal from a restaurant, or some totilla and salsa. He said very few people will eat the potato chips (which happen to have no meat ingredients, by the way) because they are junk food. He then said I am welcome to stay. Needless to say, after this dressing down by a very hospitable co- host , it took the fun out of the evening for me. I later found out that this co-host also 'asked' one of his other guests not to bring apple juice to a vegan potluck party because the host supposedly will supply the water. Morals of the lesson: If you want to host an event, please write on the invitation what food and drink you DO NOT want to see at your party. If you want to go to a vegan/vegeatarian potluck, make sure you bring the right food and drink ---- being a non vegan/vegetarian and ignorance is no excuse--- or you might just wish you have never heard of the concepts of " veganism/vegetarianism " Or you may just end up like me, getting a 2 minute lecture by a loser co-host who cares more about food than company. Guest guest
I'm a big junk food vegetarian, and proud of it. I use to have a book called 'Junk food Vegetarianism' but I lost it about fifteen years ago. It was great. The best cook book I had ever seen - every dish in the book took less than 5 minutes to make. It was printed in the UK and I can't find it anywhere. tony
