Guest guest
Organic Cafe 418 418 Front St Santa Cruz 95060 Wow, I just found out that 6 young cooperative workers own this restaurant. Opened just a few weeks and the place is already quite crowded. Currently only open till 6pm on weekdays. (no weekend hours yet) When they get their act smoothed out a bit, they will open later. Hey, Santa Cruz people, please keep us posted on what's going on. This is a small place with a place for entertainment and is located next to the Santa Cruz Greyhound bus stop. My friend was there last week. He will try to get me their phone number. I called information, they don't have the restaurant listed. I personally feel this restaurant will make it cause the workers will put their love into the food. By the way, the workers and diners are in their 20s. So this is where the veggies hang out. --- I " m not sure if this is related, but check it out http://www.baymoon.com/~djembe/Mamady_2003_Workshop.html --- here's a 1996 review, of the previous restaurant on 418 Front St So Say We 418 Front St., SC, 454-9547. An artistic attitude, little round bistro tables and a spun copper espresso bar punctuate this neo-Bohemian evening dining arena that fronts the Santa Cruz Dance Gallery. So devoted to after-hours rendezvous are these children of the night, that the place doesn't even open until 5pm. Named after local groups and performance stars, So Say We's special broiled sandwiches are compiled of creative pastiches like roasted garlic and spinach with marinated organic mushrooms and Gorgonzola cheese. Another special named the " Del Rey " features golden sun-dried tomato and hazelnut pesto. Mmmmm. There are also platters of vegetables, spreads, olives and cheeses, plus salads and soup of the day. BYOB (no corkage fee), or sip elegant espressos, Italian hot chocolates and exotic herbal teas until the wee hours. --- Diners, see you at Oxygen Bar this coming Tue for a $10 organic full plated Living Foods meal.
