Hi All,

First, a bit of facetious FYI, in case you aren't

familiar with the CCVs:

The Contra Costa Vegetarians have been gathering for

monthly potlucks for almost 12 years. We welcome

folks from all over the Bay Area to join us. We also

welcome people in all bands of the veggie spectrum,

from future veg to never-looking-back vegans. We

don't require blood tests at the door to determine if

you've eaten meat recently, nor will we chastise you

if you bring a bag of chips. If it's chips vs.

someone not attending, we'll take the chips, and some

of us will even eat them! Seriously, the food is

always great (especially the desserts!), but our main

purpose is social. Some of us have been told we laugh

too much, but we can be serious if we absolutely have

to. Just don't make us do it too often please.

Our potlucks are the third Saturday of every month,

but we are contemplating branching out into other

types of events as well. The potlucks are vegan,

since all types of veggie people can eat that way. We

never specify what type of dish people should bring

because we almost always have a good mix of delicious

dishes without that. Kids have always been welcome at

our gatherings, though we do not currently have many

attending (hopefully that will change--please, start a

trend).

The potlucks are at various members' houses or in

local parks if the weather is nice. I do the mailing

list and each notice includes details and directions,

as well as a mention if any pets live in a hosting

house, in case people have allergies. If you would

like to be on our mailing list or have any questions,

please let me know.

And now to the important stuff, the next potluck:

CONTRA COSTA VEGETARIANS' VEGAN POTLUCK!

ie, no meat, fish, eggs, dairy, honey, etc.)
