Hi folks,

Just thought I'd take a moment to welcome all the new folks who've

joined us in the last couple of months. Hope to see many of you at

our upcoming events and chat with ya via our mailing list. We are a

Bay area wide group, totally member/volunteer driven. The events

that happen depend on what we (as individual members) want to do!

So, if there's an event you'd like to host or suggest, please feel

free to contact me.

I will have a few more announcements in the next few days about

upcoming events, just kinda backlogged on mail right now.

Just as a reminder for all our members -- if mail volume is an issue

for you (our FAQ tells you how to do this and other stuff)

- individual messages are the subscription default. Often your mail

program will allow you to " filter " messages into different folders.

If you want to do that, all messages from the list will

have " SFBAVeg " in the subject line. Sometimes individual messages

are easier to handle because you can see from the subject lines which

ones may be of interest to you.

- you can change to a daily digest (compilation of all the messages

into a one) with one quick email to: -digest .

- if you are going on VACATION or won't be checking your mail

regularly, if your inbox fills up and starts bouncing messages,

Groups (which hosts our mailing list) will automatically set your

membership to inactive so you cannot post or receive messages. So,

you should set your membership to " nomail " and then set it back to

individual/daily upon your return.

- Members with IDs can also read the archives online.

I also learned that hotmail users need to change their mail filters

to accept messages from our group, otherwise they get routed to junk

mail. I'll be updating our FAQ with this shortly. If you find out

stuff like above, please do share with me so I can update or FAQ &

share with others.

The URL for the FAQ is at the bottom of every message from SFBAVeg.

It is: http://www.generationv.org/faq.htm

Cheers,

Tammy
