I am pleased to share with news about 3 presentations that Dr. Michael

Greger will be doing for SFBAVeg in Pacifica, Mountain View, and SF City

College. Please note -- the Mountain View event is a fundraiser (including

dinner) for Dr. Greger!!

3/2 Sunday - Pacifica

Lecture " Is it Madness to care about Mad Cow Disease in America? " by Dr.

Michael Greger, M.D.Come hear Dr. Michael Greger, M.D. explain, in an

entertaining yet informative style, the real story about the public health

implications here and abroad of Mad Cow Disease and its human form, variant

Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, as well as the role of modern animal agribusiness

in the coming crisis. The American beef industry continues to risk public

safety and the USDA remains complacent, protecting business interests over

those of the consumer. Light refreshments at noon, presentation starts at

12:30. Free. Sliding scale donation $2-$5 to help pay for Dr. Greger's

travel expenses & refreshments appreciated. Pacifica Library, 104 Hilton Wy

3/2 Sunday - Mountain View

Dinner & Lecture with Dr. Michael Greger, one of the best veg*n speakers,

will lecture on " CORPORATE GLOBALIZATION: TRADING AWAY OUR RIGHT TO PROTECT

ANIMALS. " Dr. Greger will share his research about how global trade

agreements and institutions such as GATT, NAFTA, and the World Trade

Organization (WTO) have affected animals. This is a riveting and

thought-provoking talk, infused with vast historical background and even

humor, about what may be the greatest threat ever posed to animal

protection.

 

Dinner: An experienced professional gourmet chef, specializing in

Macrobiotic, Vegetarian and Vegan meals, James Holloway is best know as the

often guest chef for the Penisula Macrobiotic Society. James will be

preparing a home-cooked 4-course Vegan meal for us.

 

Come meet & mingle with Dr. Greger and friends starting at 5 pm, Dinner at

5:30 pm, Presentation at 7 pm. All net proceeds to benefit Dr. Michael

Greger on his national speaking tour. Cost is a sliding scale donation of

$20 to $30 per person for vegan dinner, dessert and presentation by our

guest of honor, Dr. Greger. For presentation only, $5. Location: 777 West

11 a.m. Lecture " Eating the Earth, One Bite at a Time " Dr. Greger explains

how our food choices impact the environment. SF City College, Conlan Hall,

Room 101 (it's the lecture hall in the main administration building) Free.
