After much encouragement from my friends who've been enjoying the organic vegan baklava I usually make for holidays to share it with the greater vegan community, it's all come together in the last couple of months. LOVBaklava (Lina's Organic Vegan Baklava) is here! Rainbow was the first to order, and Ananda Fuara and Juicy Lucy's soon followed! About the baklava: 100% organic, 100% vegan, no hydrogenated products (vegan shortening), organic whole wheat fillo, baked in stainless steel pans (most commercial bakers use the much cheaper aluminum pans), packed in non-bleached parchment cups. It comes in 2 inch squares or heartshaped for Valentine's Day (see below) Soon to come: Spelt Baklava - for out wheat-challenged friends, and Stevia Baklava - for our friends with sugar issues. Valentine's Day Gift Special: Four Heartshaped pieces of baklava about 2 1/2 inches across in a red tissue paper lined box with a clear top and a gold elastic ribbon and gold label. Future tastings: A baklava and coffee paired tasting is in the works at Rainbow - I'll be sure to invite all of you to come out and try the baklava.
