3/15 - Save the Date!

Hi all,

 

Buoyed by the success of the first SFBAVeg Letter Writing party in Pacifica

and our activity booth at VegFair earlier this month, plans are underway for

another SFBAVeg letter writing party! Yes, on Saturday, March 15th, we'll

gather to " Do the Write Thing " ! Since we are a Bay Area wide group, we'll

have locations throughout the Bay Area, allowing folks to travel to the

Letter Writing party nearest them. This is a *great* way to meet local veg

folks who live near you.

 

Most importantly, this is also a wonderful opportunity to get out there and

write letters for the animals! If we don't write them, who will!?

 

Confirmed locations so far:

Oakland (Telegraph/Ashby)

Pacifica

San Francisco (Inner Richmond)

 

Locations needed:

South Bay

North Bay

 

If you are interested in participating by *hosting* a letter writing party,

please contact me. The host's primary responsibility is to provide a

location, and have extra writing supplies on hand for folks who forget. It

would be great to have participation in the all parts of the Bay Area. The

letter writing date is set for 3/15, but the actual time of the event can

vary based on the host. Multiple locations within cities are welcome, too

(especially good in areas where a lot of folks don't have cars)

 

Since this is a letter writing party, the primary focus will be on writing

letters. Participants can bring a vegan snack to share, but we don't really

want this to be a vegan food party as then we'll end up filling our tummies

instead of the mailboxes. (Our next VFP is 2/22)

 

For now, please save the date! And contact me if you'd like to host one in

your neighborbood. Full details will be posted later to this list, and of

course available on the SFBAVeg events calendar at

VegFair, you can still " Do the Write Thing " as our sample letters from

VegFair are still available. We still need to generate letters to support

ACR 16, the resolution to get veggie food into the CA school lunch program.
