Guest guest
This might be old news to many of you, but I ask the question nonetheless: Why do Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) labels indicate daily percentages for Carbs and Fat but *not* for Protein? Is it because the meat/dairy industries don't want people to look at the label and say, " huh... if I drink this glass of milk and have a cheeseburger for lunch I'll pretty much take care of my protein needs for the day. I don't need to eat/drink so much protein it seems. I think I'll have some vegetables for dinner. " ? ~Caity
Guest guest
I don't think it's any conspiracy on the part of the dairy or meat industries. A nutrition textbook I have says, " Protein generally will not show a %Daily Value because determining %Daily Value would require expensive testing of protein quality of the product by the manufacturer.
