This might be old news to many of you, but I ask the question

nonetheless:

 

Why do Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) labels indicate daily

percentages for Carbs and Fat but *not* for Protein?

 

Is it because the meat/dairy industries don't want people to look at the

label and say, " huh... if I drink this glass of milk and have a

cheeseburger for lunch I'll pretty much take care of my protein needs

for the day. I don't need to eat/drink so much protein it seems. I think

I'll have some vegetables for dinner. "

I don't think it's any conspiracy on the part of the dairy or meat

industries. A nutrition textbook I have says, " Protein generally will not

show a %Daily Value because determining %Daily Value would require expensive

testing of protein quality of the product by the manufacturer. "
