Guest guest
HI all, The next SFBAVeg events will be the Dr. Michael Greger presentations on 3/2 & 3/4 and the Letter Writing Party on 3/15 (more details on that in a separate post). Event info here: http://www.generationv.org/ The next Vegan Food Party will our " half year " birthday celebration in April. SFBAVeg will be 1.5 years old! Last year we had our .5 year bday VFP at Golden Gate Park in SF. We haven't picked a location yet -- I will probably do a poll to help us decide... I'm guessing that most are in East Bay & SF area ?? *** Please take a minute to vote via the poll *** We have several hundred members on the list. For the poll results to really have any meaning, we need you to vote! Please contact me if you are interested to help organize it or research locations (the primary factors being free location, plus factors--picnic tables, convenient to public transit & /or convenient parking for carpooling). Someone is already looking into SF Parks..... can anyone help in the East Bay? I was talking with some folks at last nite's VFP, the typical comments about how good the food was, too bad folks who wonder about vegan food weren't here to try it.... Then the idea that since this is a birthday party, we'd make it special by sharing it with our non-veggie friends! (Surely we each have at least one of those...) To encourage the non-veggie person to come, maybe the veggie " sponsor " could provide food for the non-veg person. I think sharing vegan food with non-veg people in a friendly picnic atmosphere is a wonderful way to " expose " how great vegan food can be. Thoughts/ideas on this? How would we encourage non-veg people to attend? Guest guest
I respectfully dissent. Except for the corn bread and peanut butter no-cheese cake, I thought the food was the most mediocre I've had in a long time. But I understand the need for a little puffery in the name attracting folks to future events. So, puff away! - Tammy SF-Be-A-Veg Sunday, February 23, 2003 1:00 PM [sFBAVeg] Next Vegan Food Party HI all, The next SFBAVeg events will be the Dr. Michael Greger presentations on 3/2 & 3/4 and the Letter Writing Party on 3/15 (more details on that in a separate post). Guest guest
Personally, I thought all of the food was quite good, and have heard several positive reviews, including from my omni husband who was a little overwhelmed at the offerings! Sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as we did, -Kim On Monday, February 24, 2003, at 05:26 PM, Pete Cohon wrote: > I respectfully dissent. Guest guest
Sorry, Kim. My post was supposed to be a private communication to Tammy. Apparently, when I hit the " reply " button I didn't notice that it would also post on the list. I admit that I wasn't nuts about the food, and my own dish certainly wasn't a winner, but the hosts were first class and not responsible for my personal tastes. My apologies to you and the list. - " Kim Flournoy " <kim " Pete Cohon " <plcohon Cc: " SF-Be-A-Veg " Monday, February 24, 2003 7:02 PM Re: [sFBAVeg] Next Vegan Food Party > Personally, I thought all of the food was quite good, and have heard > several positive reviews, including from my omni husband who was a > little overwhelmed at the offerings! > > Sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as we did, > -Kim > > > On Monday, February 24, 2003, at 05:26 PM, Pete Cohon wrote: > > > I respectfully dissent.
