Guest guest
UPDATE: oops... it would have been helpful if I remembered to include that the letter writing date is March 15th... thanks! SFBAVeg Event Calendar: http://www.generationv.org/events Reminder: This Sunday!! Dr. Michael Greger: Mad Cow - Pacifica - noon; Corporate Globalization - Mountain View - 5 pm Hi all, Just want to let you know that the date & times have been established for the Bay Area Letter Writing Day! This is a great opportunity to put pen to paper and put your compassion in action and " do the write thing " ! I know many of us (myself included) always want to write more letters, and this is great opportunity to do so in a supportive environment and connect with local veg-minded folks. Participants should bring their own letter writing supplies (pen, paper, envelopes, stamps) and optionally a vegan snack to share. You are welcome to bring alerts with you, too!! If you have extra stationary supplies, that might be helpful to bring to share, as well. Locations & times, & contact info for Hosts -- Sunday, March 15th ---------- -- Pacifica 2-5 pm, RSVP to Caity for location/directions, email: caity Oakland (Ashby/Telegraph) 2-5 pm, RSVP to Polly & Lindsay, email: pstrand San Francisco (Haight), 3-6 pm, RSVP to Nora, email: norakramer For folks new to the group, we had a letter-writing activity booth at VegFair, and the response was overwhelming! If you didn't get a chance to write a letter with us then, the sample letters are still available at http://www.generationv.org/cia.htm with photos at: http://www.generationv.org/photos.htm From PETA's website on letter writing, " Legislators estimate that 10 letters from constituents represent the concerns of 10,000 citizens. Anybody who will take the time to write is voicing the fears and desires of thousands more. " says former Congressperson Billy Evan (D-Ga.) Thanks to our Letter Writing Hosts, and to everyone who'll be joining us! I'll be at the Pacifica one, and looking forward to meeting other coastsiders! Cheers, Tammy Join the vegan r/evolution! http://www.generationV.org/ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * FREE vegan info kit: http://www.veganoutreach.org/starterpack/free-vsp.html
