Guest guest
Hi all, Just wanted to report back on how SFBAVeg's three events for Michael Greger went. We had a (1) lecture on Sunday on Mad Cow Disease in Pacifica, (2) lecture & fundraiser dinner on Corporate Globalization in Mountain View, and (3) lecture on Food choices & environment at SF City College Bottom line: 1) We raised $270.00 for Dr. Michael Greger's nationwide speaking tour -- all proceeds/all profits went entirely to Dr. Greger ! While most of the funds came from the great fundraiser dinner/presentation at Mtn View, we also gave 100% of the donations from Pacifica, too. 2) Over 100 people were educated at the 3 events (including a primarily student audience at SF City College, whose response to Dr. Greger was quite enthusiastic) I would like to thank a couple of key people who made these events possible: Dr. Greger -- a tireless and enthusiastic crusader for the animals! We were very pleased to support his efforts by organizing these events and sponsoring a fundraiser for him. And I'd like to give big thanks to Lori H. and Caity, too. Lori did such a wonderful job organizing the fundraiser dinner -- selecting the delicious menu (the tofu fritatta was delicious), handling the RSVPs, and doing all the details right down to little arrows on the walkway leading guests to the community room for the event! Caity's help in promoting the Pacifica event was super, from getting an article in the local paper to emceeing the event to donating food. Working with folks like Lori and Caity is a real pleasure! And, finally, we'd all like to thank everyone who attended and supported our events and supported Dr. Greger! Dr. Greger's year-long speaking tour ends in May, after which he said he plans to write....
