Guest guest
This is in response to Tony's message about Michael Savage. I feel downright pity for that guy. However, he was right about Hitler. He was a vegetarian. But of course he brings that up like any other idiot carnivore who tries to

(Some did seem somewhat accurate though.I must say...) - ) How funny..This causes me concern.. as my " 'ology " suggests I have a depth hereforeto, perhaps, unknown in the plant/human kingdom. Maybe I am the " 6th " degree of (vegetable) " seperation. I was referring to the link that you gave for the hummus and pita. It listed the hummus history as.... 400 BC - Plato and Socrates write about the benefits of Hummus in their diets. 1200 AD - Mediterranean countries list Hummus as a staple. 1910 - Waves of immigrants bring Hummus to America. 1981 - Some regional brands of Hummus appear in supermarkets. Guest guest
>1910 - >Waves of immigrants bring Hummus to America. What a wonderful image - I can just picture thousands of downtrodden Europeans lined up on Ellis Island, each carrying all their worldly possessions in a small bundle plus a huge tub of hummus. ;-) Paul --
Guest guest
Juicing- I have been to a few raw food retreats for 3 weeks at a time. I find it easy when the fresh organic veg are prepared for you, sprouts, seed cheese, rejuvelac in pitchers everywhere etc. No work, just time to relax and detox. Back at hom I find it harder. I wanted to incorporate juicing or a raw day every few days or 2-3 days a week or every other day. I am concerned about high sugar content fruits and fruit combining . Should I be doing veg/green juices primarily? Are fruit juices ok? What about just eating fruit and veg on my raw day (skipping the fermented foods) I am doing this in an attempt to lose weight and fel cleaner. I will do one day of cooked food, eggs, chicken, fish and veg/salad and then do a 100% " raw " day. What would be the best way to do this? Thanks Jay
Guest guest
If you are doing it to loose weight and detox then you should not be eating cooked foods and meats. I would not worry to much about fruit if you are not health challenged. Watermelon will aid a detoxing diet, as it acts as a dieretic. The best way to STAY clean, eat less and detox, is to get your cravings and appitite under control. That is to juice fast for a long period, until perhaps all your weight is lost. Then eat raw. Otherwise you may find yourself to restricted and cravings to strong. I also have been to retreats. The best way for me to do a retreat is to fast BEFORE going. Then I am not craving anything and I learn better and gain more control when I get home. The food a the retreat will be a treat compare to a fast and the perfect way to gently break a fast. If I go on a retreat without fasting I find I am back to old habits at home because I am a lone star in this home of six. Juicing- I have been to a few raw food retreats for 3 weeks at a time. Guest guest
Dear Jamie, Thank you so much for posting this site. I shared this with a coworker who is slowly becoming vegan. He never heard of foie gras or ate it but was stunned to learn about it. Thanks! I had never heard of that either, but what a great thing to do!! Anyway it's nice to see a politician (no matter who it is) doing something commendable.
