Guest guest
Oops! My last message got sent before I finished it. I was saying that Savage brought up Hitler as have a long line of idiots who try to assert that because someone who did many evil things was a veggie, that somehow discredits vegetarianism. Almost every person, no matter how rotten generally, tends to have some talent or area of personality that is worthwhile or helpful. Hitler happened to have several of these, despite all that was wrong with him. Does that mean that people shouldn't like art or reading because Hitler did? Of course not. Which makes that same old argument really boring. I don't worry, though. I'm sure Savage's TV show will be canceled as quickly, if not faster, than Limbaugh or Dr. Laura's were. By the way, Savage's wife went to a town meeting in Larkspur (where they live) a few months ago that met to discuss the possibility of establishing a residential drug treatment program in Larkspur. She was so hysterical that the town board actually threw her out of the meeting! I know that this is not exactly veggie-related but I thought it was pretty amusing. Cheers! Guest guest
I've heard the rumor that Hitler was a vegetarian many times. So far, nobody making that statement has cited a specific, reputable history book stating that fact. If anyone knows a credible source for that information, preferably two sources, please post that information. If not, I'll continue to assume that it is another rumor started by those seeking to discredit veggies, like Savage. - Emily Kearney SFBAVeg Sunday, March 09, 2003 11:32 AM Re: [sFBAVeg] Digest Number 507 This is in response to Tony's message about Michael Savage. I feel downright pity for that guy. However, he was right about Hitler. He was a vegetarian. But of course he brings that up like any other idiot carnivore who tries to

Guest guest
The short answer is that he wasn't a strict vegetarian, but did attempt a vegetarian diet to address a medical condition. I did a Google search and found more info: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient & q=hitler+vegetarian The first link treats the topic as an urban legend: http://www.urbanlegends.com/celebrities/hitler_vegetarian.html And cites a specific book, " The Medical Casebook of Adolf Hitler " : http://tinyurl.com/77a5 --Brian - Mr. Pete Sunday, March 09, 2003 10:07 PM Re: [sFBAVeg] Savage and his pal Hitler I've heard the rumor that Hitler was a vegetarian many times.
