Call and response, so you don't need to know the chants in advance to participate. No background in chanting is necessary. Open discussion of chanting as a spiritual practice. All are welcome. Bring percussive musical instruments, if you like. Open embrace of bhakti yoga. Vegetarian potluck following kirtan. From the East on Hwy 24 (toward Berkeley) take Orinda exit and keep left at the fork in the ramp to Orinda (not Orinda Village) and then bear right at the second fork in the ramp. Merge onto Camino Pablo going under the freeway. Pass through the first signal and then follow directions in the previous paragraph. Tentative dates: (Confirm and join the email list) March 15 April 26 May 10 June 7 June 28 July 19 August 16 October 18 November 22 December 13 NamastÈ and greetings: The next East-Bay kirtan will be at 6 PM on Saturday, March 15. As a special treat, Jeff Palmer who plays tabla and flute at the Harbin Hot Springs' Monday night kirtan will be joining us. This will certainly be a kirtan not to miss! The format will be as usual with happy " hour " from 6-6:15 PM, followed by kirtan and a vegetarian potluck at 8 PM. Last Sunday I played sarod with Jeff in an East Indian concert at Harbin. Jeff is planning to bring his sitar and with interest, we could have a short concert after dinner. Other Indian-instrument players are welcome. Any tamboura players? In any event we will have opportunity to be together as a community on what appears to be the brink of war in Iraq. Please join me in intending peace to those who seek peace through violence. Please plan to come if this feels right for you. Kirtan! Web Hosting - establish your business online
