Hey folks,

Quite often, I used to see small pop ups and banner

ads in all the websites which say something like this

" Shoot the bird and win prices " or " Hit the monkey and

win a trip " or something which relates to hitting poor

creatures for winning some lotter type of thing. I

know there is no direct violence involved here. But

what happens here is if these things were seen by the

kids, they are tempted to try them.

Do anyone feel that these type of violent acts on

animals should not be put on the websites ?

Gana.

I do feel that these types of banners are not good because it desensitizes

people to the suffering of animals. I don't think anyone is going to go out and

kill an animal after seeing one ad but rather that ideas like these accumulate

in ones conscience. These ads are just adding to the general idea that there is

nothing wrong with harming animals. Is there anything that can be done about

them?

I just saw a 'shoot the clown' banner ad and was amused in the

same way that I am amused by the video game Deer Avenger where

the deer 'hunts' the deer hunter.
