ACTIVISM ON BEHALF OF FARMED ANIMALS

In recognition of Meatout 2003, BOAA welcomes Kim Sturla. Kim is an UCB

alumnus, Education Director for The Fund for Animals, and Co-founder and of Animal Place, a sanctuary in Solano County for farmed animals.

She will discuss the outreach campaigns Animal Place is launching and how

you can help by working with schools on the 5-H: Adding Compassion to 4-H

campaign, with shelters on the Food for Thought campaign, and with the

public on the Veggie Cook-Off event.

MEATOUT 2003

In preparation for Meatout 2003 on Thursday, March 20, BOAA is screening

PeTA's " Meat Your Meat " video and handing out free vegan starter kits and

yummy vegan treats! Stop by to learn about the benefits of a vegan diet and

pledge to kick the meat habit for one full day, March 20 (the first day of

Spring), and explore a nonviolent diet of vegetables, fruits, and grains.
