Guest guest
Your post remind me that Vegan Marshmallows available (again) This is the companies website, but there's not much information there yet. http://www.veganmarshmallows.com/ I was luck enough to pick up a bag at the Student AR conference in Berkley the other week and was pleasantly surprised how good they were. Apparently the manufacturer is based in Oakland. Take care Chris Donald J Brooks [squeers] Sunday, March 16, 2003 1:51 PM SFBAVeg [sFBAVeg] More Altoids stuff See, now the thing is, lots of companies (like the people that make marshmallows) say they have a vegetarian gelatin now, made from plant material. I wodner if any have commentary on this? They say they haven't used meat based gelatin for several years. I am still not eating it, just to be safe, but I wonder what the group says about this. By the way, lots of dairy substitutes also have gelatin. IMO sour cream for example. That came as a shock to me. And of course you also have to avoid all pastries and snack cakes. full of lard. Also, most refried beans and tortillas. Mexican food is a giant pitfall, really. Oh, and shampoo and soap sometimes use gelatin. Gotta be careful about them too. What do you think?
